Art Students - We Want Your Ideas

Project Goal: Design a permanent public art installation concept which reflects our diverse community, culture, and geographic growth. Art & design students who attend high school or live in Shawnee, Kansas will have the opportunity to collaborate with students at the Cedar Trails Exploration Center who will fabricate the art installation. 

All high school students (grades 9 - 12) who attend school or live in Shawnee, Kansas (whether at a public, private, or homeschool setting) are encouraged to submit a design idea for a public art installation. Final selected designer (or design team) must be willing to partner with the students at Cedar Trails Exploration Center during the fabrication and installation process.

2. Email a drawing of your idea to artcommittee@shawneeksarts.com by midnight February 28, 2025.

• February 28, 2025 - All art submissions submitted online to the art selection committee.
• March 28, 2025 - Finalists notified and requested to present a 3D model to the art selection committee in May 2025 (date and location TBD.)
