About Shawnee Kansas Arts

Our Mission

Our Mission is to champion the arts and culture of Shawnee, Kansas by seeking opportunities to support public art, artists, and creative endeavors which benefit both residents and visitors to our community. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization registered with the state of Kansas and the Internal Revenue Service founded on September 9, 2022, by members of the Shawnee, Kansas community who served on the City of Shawnee, Kansas Public Arts Task Force during 2021-2022. 

What are we doing?

We are partnering with local organizations to bring more arts opportunities to our community: 

  • Planning our next public art project in collaboration with local community organizations.
  • Updating our public art inventory, supporting public art in progress, and seeking new locations for public art.
  • Creating an online local arts directory in partnership with our local government, area schools, and chamber of commerce.
